What does God want from you?

What does God want from you?

Have you ever wondered what God wants from you?. The people answer question by different ways, but I want to share what the Bible says, a very simple answer but very powerful:

“My sacrifice, O God, is[a] a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, you God, will not despise.”

Psalm 51:17 (NIV)

Let´s see two things God want’s from you:

A broken spirit (Be honest with God)

God wants you recognize your need of Him, his love, his forgiveness, his Salvation. Your spirit is broken when you recognize what you're doing is wrong, or hurtful, that the decisions we have taken offend that person you love and you hurt him. Then your conscience makes you know you've done something bad, then your spirit is broken, you feel devastated, guilty and badly. Ok, imagine you had a very heated argument with your couple, you offended and did much damage, at that moment you did not think what you were doing and you did not give much importance. But then you saw that argument affected him, things were not the same after that day, so you thought and it´s hurt a lot to have treated him so badly, you accepted your mistake. Just that God desires, you acknowledge that you have offended him with your sins (like all people in the world), the decisions you taken offend him, so you have the Bible and it presents God's opinion about what is right or wrong, but this is only the first step.

A repented Heart

I´m sure this happened to you. You are going to some place you've never visited and you feel very sure how to get (more if you are a man for we believe we are the best GPS). But you turned on the wrong street and you end farther away from what you imagined (then your wife says, “you see, I told you so "). Finally you find out the correct path and change of course, until you arrive. That's just repent "change of course". God wants you change your life direction, leave sin and put your faith in Jesus Christ, He wants your thinking, your purpose and your behavior go according to his will. If you repent you leave behind the life that displeases God and begin to like Him and live for Him. You will discover that to do his will gives meaning to your life, accomplishment, fulfillment, you will discover your life´s purpose, you will understand that God is the ALL of the human being, you will have eternal life.

Remember this, God will always accept you if you go to Him and recognize that you need him, God loves you, you are unique and invaluable for Him.
